Scientific Studies show that hypnotherapy, combined with a program of exercise and proper nutrition, can effect release of excess weight and long-term maintenance of desired body size.

To become a slim person from now on, you must learn to think and behave like a slim person, to permanently change your whole outlook and relationship to food, exercise, and your own self.

With hypnosis, your mind becomes more focused – fully alert and attentive, yet able to utilize beneficial suggestions at a deep level.  Through hypnosis and self-hypnosis you can change the patterns of thinking and behavior that up to now may have made it difficult for you to take weight off and keep it off: emotional and binge eating, comfort eating, eating too much of the wrong foods, and avoiding exercise.

Hypnotherapy, and You

Program

The Weight, Hypnotherapy, and You (WHY) Program1 gives you the control and enhances the choices you make about food and exercise.

You receive

  • eight private sessions;
  • the WHY Client Workbook of assignments and helpful information;
  • self-hypnosis training, allowing you to take charge of your own hypnotic suggestions; and
  • personalized hypnosis recordings, for reinforcement between sessions.
My program builds in incentives for you to succeed: you must shed at least four pounds between sessions, from session 4 on.  You move to the next step only as you are ready and actually reducing your weight. You are in charge; you work at your own pace.

On completing the program you will have reduced by at least
sixteen pounds and have all the tools and methods you need to continue on your own – to reach your target weight and maintain it.  You may also, as an option, schedule further “booster” sessions.

With each of the last four sessions you will receive a customized recording of the hypnosis portion, for reinforcing and enhancing your progress, to listen to as often as you wish.

1  I have adopted the WHY (Weight, Hypnotherapy, and YOU) program, as laid out in the book Weight, Hypnotherapy, and YOU, by Dr. Judith Pearson.   Practitioners in six different countries are now using this protocol in their practice and it is the only program of it's kind (that I am aware of) that offeres a structured, tested, and research-based hypnotherapudic approach to the psychological aspects of weight reduction.

 



Weight Reduction Groups
Hypnosis Silver Spring also offers a weight reduction program for groups
, distinct from the WHY Program.  Please contact us if you are interested in participating in this economical alternative.

A new Weight Reduction With Hypnosis group will start in January, 2010.  The group will meet weekly for six sessions near downtown Silver Spring.  Cost: $270.  This is a lower-cost alternative to individual sessions with the WHY (“Weight, Hypnotherapy, and YOU”) program, with less individual attention but with the power of the group dynamic and support.
